Daily Sketch inspired by a Facebook photo: Terence with daughter
Before getting back to work on NAKED! cover sketches, I warmed up with quickie Daily Sketch inspired by a photo that my friend Terence posted on his Facebook Wall this morning.

Trying to get back in my habit of doing Daily Sketches: doodling purely for the fun of it. When doing this doodle, I generally just open up a blank page, put pen to paper (digital or print) without a plan, and see what happens. So in case you were wondering, I have no idea what kind of creature that is. :-)
Created for Illustration Friday. This week's theme: "Mirror." I decided to use today's sketch to experiment with Corel Painter 12. I gave up on Painter a couple of years back because the update was too crash-y for me and I needed to work on my book illustrations, but I do miss some of the painterly effects.
I did the inking and woodcut effect in Photoshop and then imported it into Painter, used the pastel brush to add color texture.
My Daily Sketch today is for Illustration Friday. This week's topic: "Identical."
