Japanese Reflection for #inktober

Title: "Japanese Reflection." Created this as my first ‪#‎inktober‬ piece. The Japanese figurine was a gift from my mom to my father years ago. In addition to other differences, the girl in the ink reflection is holding a book instead of a fan. :-)

My mom loved to read, though most of the books she read were in Japanese.

Fox doodle for a friend

My friend Vixy/Michelle Dockrey likes foxes and it's her birthday today, so I started to do what was supposed to a quick doodle of a fox this aft. But then the water happened, and then I added a reflection; I'm not really sure where that come from, but I don't argue with my Muse when I'm doodling for fun. :-)

Daily Doodle: Cloud study with water reflection

Corel Painter experiment: cloud study with reflections on water

Going through exercises in ADVANCED PAINTER TECHNIQUES by Don Seegmiller. Really great info. In this exercise, I learned more about layer combination methods, using duplicated layers to create a feeling of depth, and  how to use a fractal pattern to create a water reflection effect.
