Bought a bunch of plain matte frames at a local art store recently and doodled on one for the fun of it. Love the smooth texture of the surface when using my Pentel Pocket Pen Brush. Then I decided to do a doodle in the center frame on watercolor paper using the same ink but add colour with Derwent Inktense blocks.
I've gotten in the habit of carrying around a bundle of index cards wherever I go.
Don't ask me what this doodle's about; I have no idea. :-)
Back from what basically amounted to three back-to-back weeks of travel. Had a lot of fun and (in the case of SCBWI-LA) learned a ton, but am very very glad to be back in my basement office cave in hermitmode.
Above: samples of the many non-digital doodles I did at the cottage with my Pentel Pocket Brush Pen, which is my favorite real-life sketching tool. SO fun to use. I posted some other cottage doodles as well as cottage pics in Instagram.
