A duck-billed platypus for Marilisa Valtazanou

A while back as part of an art challenge for myself, I asked people to suggest animals for me to draw in my Daily Sketch project -- animals I don't normally draw. You can see links to past animals & people's suggestions here.

This duck-billed platypus is for Marilisa Valtazanou.

I created this drawing on Strathmore Waterolor coldpress using a Pentel Pocket Brush Pen, Derwent Inktense blocks and Inktense pencil crayons.

Experimental doodle with Derwent Inktense Blocks

Trying out Derwent Inktense Blocks for the first time. I already have Derwent's water-soluble pencils but am intrigued by the different techniques you can use with the blocks. Plus I've always hating colouring, and the blocks make that bit easier and more fun.
