hershey

Happy 4th of July to all you Americans out there! Also, it's Paul Kwinn's birthday today...feel free to send him birthday greetings. More Sea Monkey news (I know you're all glued to your seats in anticipation...esp. YOU, Allison): Another Sea Monkey pair is locked in embrace - Arthur Curry and Emily! Plus there are now some visible baby Sea Monkeys frolicking about. I'm getting a bit worried about the cramped quarters for these new families. But bigger news: I have a Tamagotchi! Or at least a clone. Jeff brought one home for me yesterday...hatched last night. He's still asleep, but looks pretty darned cute. I've named him Hershey. Site of the Day: Mars Pathfinder Information - Images from the Pathfinder will be posted here this evening when they become available (around 9:30 p.m. EDT).
9:19:42 AM Wow, is Hershey ever demanding. He woke up, immediately demanded a ton of food. After devouring hamburgers, chicken legs, soup, icecream, he wanted to be played with. That kept him happy for a little bit, then he got bored and cried until I turned the radio on for him. And he's only been awake for 20 minutes!

sigmund pregnant

Eek! What I thought was the radio was actually the air conditioner. Poor Hershey almost froze to death. He's pretty fat now...61 kg. He likes icecream a lot (he never turns it down even if he turns down other food) and he hates losing at Scissors, Paper, Rock (he makes a mad face). This little guy is very needy. I have no idea how people keep their Tamagochis alive without carrying them around with them all the time. Hershey's already gotten sick three times.
Re: Sea Monkeys. Now I count THREE pregnant Sea Monkeys...Allison's not gonna like this...SIGMUND IS PREGNANT! Yes, Sigmund is actually a Sigmundia. Tonight I'm seeing Men In Black with Jeff. Watched the Marstuff yesterday...wow!!

men in black

Am working all weekend; ah, the joys of being self-employed. :-) Saw Men In Black last night and LOVED it. Hershey weighs 95kg and how has a small tail and a little tuft of something on top of his head. I confess I did an experiment yesterday to see how much icecream he would eat (I would make a terrible mother, wouldn't I?) and now he's hooked on it, cries if I don't give it to him regularly. He seems to sleep straight from 9 pm to 9 am. Set up an online bookstore today for Inkspot; check it out if you like and feel free to make suggestion on what writing-related books I should add. Am spending the rest of the day trying to catch up on biz email (over 600 messages...wish me luck). 3:47:47 PM Now THREE pairs of Sea Monkeys are embracing. There is definitely something going on in Sea Monkey land.

r.i.p. Hershey

Hershey is dead! :-( I'm not exactly sure why. He woke up at 10 a.m. this morning and I waited a few minutes before coming to pay attention to him, and when I did, there was a little halo over his head! Perhaps he took ill in the night because I forgot to turn off the air conditioner. Anyway, I've hatched a new Tamagochi guy and named him Milquetoast. I've decided to try a little experiment with Milquetoast because I'm really curious about his programming algorithm...I'm going to feed and bathe him when necessary, but not play with him at ALL. Will he die from lack of attention? Or grow up to be a hardened, cynical Tamagochi who has difficulty in sustaining a meaningful relationship? Time will tell... sea monkey explosion

The Sea Monkey tank is brimming full of baby Sea Monkeys. Population explosion! I read further in the Handbook and found out that the briny embrace I mentioned early is referred to as the "Dance Of Courtship" (stop laughing!). Well, the Dance continues. Site of the Day: Keirsey Personality Sorter - take the test and find out what kind of person YOU are. I fell into the INTJ category, basically described as "an idealist who is also a doer". Thanks to Scott Snyder for pointing out this URL. Part 1 of the UT Look at the Second ConCerto" is online. If you've had trouble accessing the official NASA Mars Pathfinder site, you're not the only one. Here are a list of some mirror sites.
