ut comic

A new UT Comic Strip is up! In case you haven't guessed, I've gone through a few Tamagochi creatures since Hershey. The thing is, you can't leave them alone for more than four hours. They die of hunger, or get sick and die, or die of boredom, or just out of spite. It's as if they all share a secret Tamagochi Death Wish, a yearning for something better (and can you blame them, really?). I did discover that instead of giving them physical affection, I can substitute icecream instead. Perhaps this only works for my particular kind of Tamagochi clone. In any case, I don't recommend that you try this at home. Site of the day: TV Listings Satellite guide. Only works for some areas in U.S. and Canada (does work for Metro Toronto!), but you can get customized tv listings...a perfect site for the truly avid couch potato.

rigor mortis

Gave Allison my Tamagochi to borrow for a week. I think she was nervous about taking him, but I gave her no choice. Unfortunately I set the timer wrong, and Rigor (she named him Rigor Mortis) woke her up at 6 a.m. demanding to be fed. Allison's not exactly a morning person, so Rigor has now lived up to his name. :-( Our friend Scott is coming to visit today through Sunday, so I'm not sure how often I'll be blathering during this time. Today's site of the day: Diaries on the Web.

comdex

Forgot to mention I went to Comdex (computer conference) and got a chance to check out the newly renovated Metro Convention Centre...huge place! Bought a copy of a CGI book at the Chapters booth for 20% off. Also forgot to mention that I've written my first Babylon Five song! We'll be debuting the song at Toronto Trek (you can find us at the open filk on Saturday night). Scott and I went to the World's Biggest Bookstore yesterday (that's the name of the store, anyway, I have no idea if it really is the world's biggest bookstore anymore although I suspect the answer is no), dropped by Business Depot on the way back home. I am quite mad about office supply stores, in case any of you didn't know. Was disappointed to find out they were sold out of black Uniball Micro pens, comforted myself with a batch of padded envelopes instead (stop gagging, Allison). The Second ConCerto Report has now been expanded to include Part 2! Today's Site: Search For Lyrics.

frisbee golf

Great weekend, great weather, fun frisbee tournament. Scott won (this means I owe him a milkshake, unfortunately). Came home to find THREE of my Sea Monkeys in a "Courtship Dance". I just don't understand Sea Monkey biology, I guess. Am WAY behind in my email. Today's Site: Digital Bindery (get your favourite web pages emailed to you). Allison's finished the Concerto Report but I still have to HTMLize it; should be up later this week.

scanner

Joe Neff sent me the correct URL for the Oreo Birthday story from the Philadelphia Inquirer. The complete UT's Look At The Second ConCerto is now online, pictures coming eventually.
Hey, Jeff got me a miniature (portable) scanner at the Comdex show...it should be arriving today, woohoo! Look for more cartoons and photos...
Site of the Day: Ben & Jerry's (thanks to Rand for discovering this URL).
