What I Found On My Walk

I was walking along Christie St in Toronto the other day and noticed a splotch on the sidewalk. Not exactly sure what it was: perhaps a bit of old plant? Anyway, I was fascinated by the unusual shapes and textures. I couldn't really draw on the sidewalk, so I snapped a photo instead.

I did feel a bit odd, crouching there on the sidewalk over a bit of decaying vegetation (a passerby gave me wide berth), but I knew that it was my only chance to capture that image exactly as it was.

And it was totally worth it because when I got home, there she was: an older woman pausing on HER walk to smell a flower.
