The Kindle 2 and iPod Shuffle perform Wrath of Khan

Thanks to Jeff for pointing me to this video, which will only be amusing to those familiar with The Wrath Of Khan (which happens to be my very favourite Star Trek movie).

Twitter Songs

I've spent most of the past week recovering from a flu bug I picked up at FKO. Symptoms (if you caught the same, we can commiserate, eh?): overwhelming need to sleep ALL THE TIME, plus it feels as if someone has stuffed your head full of Elmer's Glue and cotton. Starting a couple of days ago, I was conscious for periods long enough to (1) post more about FKO and (2) briefly browse Blip.fm and Twitter on my iPhone from time to time. Not terribly productive, but I did find this Twitter song:

as well as discover that Ingrid Michaelson wrote a short Twitter song as well:

Finally finished unpacking from FKO yesterday afternoon! And went out to buy some fruit without collapsing along the way! Yes, I feel SO accomplished. Hoping to do some catching up with work today.

Inkygirl Haven's first author/illustrator chat tonight on Second Life

chatsign_corrected

Inkygirl Haven For Children's Book Writers and Illustrators is having its VERY FIRST CHAT tonight on Second Life tonight at 8 pm EST (5 pm Second Life time). Anyone interested in writing and/or illustrator for young people is welcome!

If you've been curious about Second Life, feel free to drop by the Inkygirl Haven For Children's Book Writers & Illustrators tonight. Kristen Darbyshire will be at Inkygirl Haven, and I'll also be lurking about to help the chat run smoothly. Before or after the chat, you might also want to check out the building and grounds. Visit Beckett Gladney's new artist office on the second floor! Pick up a free copy of the e-book From Keyboard To Printed Page, a joint project between Inkygirl Haven and the Society of Children's Book Writers & Illustrators (SCBWI).

If you've never been on SL before, I strongly recommend that you sign up at least an hour in advance so you have a chance to get used to the interface.

Highly recommended (before you sign up):

Postcard Project: In 1000 years, what will the world look like?

Postcard from Sib

Got a package from my friend Sib, and it included a bunch of postcards like the one above. What a cool project idea!

If you go to http://www.in1000years.com, you can find out more about Sib's postcard project and how to contribute. I'm going to be bringing a bunch of the cards to Consonance in a couple of weeks, so feel free to ask me for one!

More info about what else Sib's package contained in a future Blathering...
