Revenge is a dish best served with country accompaniment

Apparently Dave Carroll wrote the song with his band, Sons of Maxwell, after his 35-hundred-dollar, custom-made guitar was severely damaged during a United Airlines flight, with little sympathy or help from United. Here's the story on the LAtimes site.

As one of the readers posted in response to the story:

"Revenge is a dish best served with country accompaniment."

We travelled United to New Orleans, and the flight got cancelled. Rebooking was a horrible experience. Then they lost our luggage. (We were trying to make our cruise departure time!! Try dealing with a cancelled flight AND lost luggage)

Swore I'd never fly United again.

I'll sometimes fly United to save money while earning Aeroplan points, but when I do so I understand that I'm being paid not to have legroom, electrical power, on-demand video, courtesy, checked baggage or scheduled flights. I've never flown on a United flight that had many empty seats, but have often been booked on a half-empty flight that got cancelled, with passengers being put on standby to fill seats on later flights. So now if I have a ticket on a United flight, I just think of the departure time as the earliest conceivable time when I might leave, but allow for a delay of a day or so. If I could put this all to music, I'd be famous.
