kimono

Be sure to check out librarian Doug Crane's article in The Looking Glass, Story as Song: Filking Children's Literature. Really interesting article and he mentions several filkers including us. :-)
I wrote a new song on Sunday which is very silly but fun about one of my favourite Looney Tunes characters. Don't know when we'll be able to premiere this...at the moment, it's looking like our next convention (where all three of us will be present) won't be until FilkOntario.
Tried on my kimono yesterday, just for fun. One of my aunts in Japan sent it to me a long while back. It smells of mothballs and seems a bit complicated, with different layers and cords and stuff. I still couldn't figure out the obi (the sash that ties around the middle), though. :-( I did find a site on the web with animated .gif instructions, but it went way too fast (more like a slide show than a movie) and seemed to miss out on important steps. Also, at times there seemed to be at least four hands working on the project, as well as several props.
Ruth says that Annie likes to eat Sara's dinner these days. Her own dinner isn't good enough, obviously. To lure Sara away, Annie will grab DollyKajolly and run off with it, hide it somewhere. While Sara's running to look for her, Annie will run back to the dinner table, clamber up on the chair, start eating Sara's dinner. How a one-year-old would figure this out is beyond me.
