ed wright

Congrats to Phil and Lissa, who sold their house earlier this week! (thanks to Anne Walker for the info) Today's site is Ookla The Mok (non-) Official Fan Club Page. VERY cool-looking site! I am truly impressed. Sound clips, photos (some obtained with permission from our site :)), Rand blatherings, lyric archive. Maintained by Ed Wright and Scott Edersheim. When asked to divulge some info about himself, Ed volunteered the following:

I was born 1/24/72 in Newark, Ohio and was raised in the miniscule community of St. Louisville, Ohio, both of which reside in the central portion of the state in Licking County about an hour or so mostly east and a bit north of Columbus. I went to Utica High School from which I graduated in 1990 and enrolled in a ridiculously small baptist college in southeastern Kentucky called Cumberland College. I transferred after my freshman year and spent the next four at the Ohio State University from which I graduated in Spring 1995 with a B.A. in English. Currently I reside in Columbus, Ohio where I work for a logistics management company called Rail Van, Inc. which specializes in third party transportation logistics and management. I am the Administrative Coordinator for the Highway division. As such I perform as the liason between operations and I.S. (systems), and the liason between operations and accounting. I am also a database analyst, and design software used by operations on our AS/400 mainframe. I aspire to one day soon become a full time writer and get paid for it and am collaborating with Scott (the other maintainer of the OTM page) on a fantasy novel that will hopefully, if published, bring some originality to a genre fraught with imitations. In my valued spare time I help maintain the OTM page, listen to music, play on the internet, and watch football (Go Bucks!)

geeky school photo

Revised my Geeky School Photo page to include a section for geeky school photo id cards. Since I was chosen Geek Site of the Day a while back, I've been getting a steady stream of geeky photo suggestions; unfortunately only a few were genuine Official School Photos. So I've decided to expand my geeky gallery a bit. I still don't have the time to maintain a "general geeky photo" gallery, though...if any of you are willing, let me know and I'll start directing traffic your way with a link from my school photo page. Going to see Ragtime with Allison tonight!

peanut butter cookies

Did some practising last night for The Second ConCerto as well as for the SCA even Jodi and Allison are attending this weekend. Allison made homemade peanut butter cookies for us, yum. Today's site: Reid's Quake pics...these are the people I tend to hang out with on Friday nights. :-) Allison's husband John is going to be joining us, too! You can see pics from last Friday here. (5:05:16 PM) Went to the Multimedia Conference at the Metro Convention Centre. Saw a few interesting demos, bought the upgrade to Painter 5 at the Fractal Design booth. Going to see Ragtime tonight with my friend Craig.

ragtime

Had fun at Ragtime last night. Rumour has it that certain people want to hear me compare The Who concert to Ragtime...sorry, you're out of luck. Unless Allison's willing to do it, of course. :-} Inkspot was reviewed on p46 of the first issue of Web Guide Magazine. I saw the magazine in a magazine store last night with Allison and was mocking it, wondering who would shell out 8 bucks for yet another internet "website" magazine. That was, of course, before I realized I was mentioned in it <:-). By the way, here's the bio of Scott Edersheim, the other guy maintaining the Ookla The Mok (non-) Official Fan Club Page (these guys sound like way too much fun):

I'm not certain what a Bio should entail, so I'll keep it brief (truth is
that my life is so interesting that it could easily fill half a page or
    even more)

Paul Edersheim paced anxiously within the small confines of the waiting
room at Genesee Community Hospital while, deep within one of the dark and
forboding birthing rooms, his wife, Shariee, shrieked and carried on like a
rabid banshee. This was the third day of the eighth month of the year
1966. 'Twas in the wee hours of the morn when the young and dashing Paul
heard a shrill cry (that was me, eh) pierce the tense air

I was born in Rochester, NY. When I was but a wee lad the family moved to
a Chicago suburb, then back to Rochester, then to Pickerington, a suburb of
Columbus, Ohio, where I was first introduced to the awesome might of the
Ohio State Buckeyes. After but a year, I was seven, we moved to a small
village 40 miles northeast of London, England. After 5 fun filled and
carefree years, we moved back to the Rochester area where I suffered for 5
long dull years. Upon graduation from a small and utterly meaningless high
school, I entered The Ohio State University so that I could witness for
myself the awesome might of the Buckeyes, and get a degree in Criminology
and Criminal Justice. While attending that fine academic institution, I
was forced to take a class in spanish. I quickly learned that I have no
affinity whatsoever for foreign language. Fortunately, and just as
quickly, I learned that the cute little gal sitting next to me did. I
passed spanish, married the cute gal, graduated, and did a 3 1/2 stint as a
    private investigator.

I now work in a totally useless and thankless capacity for the State of
Ohio. Two years ago, while attending my first MARCON, I stumbled upon a
filk concert being performed by some band named for a chewbacca like ripoff
who accompanied Thundarr the Barbarian and Ariel the Sorceress on various
animated adventures. I now spend my time as co-maintainer of a cool web
site dedicated to that same band, and collaborating on a fantasy fiction
novel with the same co-maintainer, Ed Wright. I am also still very happily
married to my spanish tutor, Paula.

prague post

Hey, my site was mentioned in The Prague Post a couple weeks ago! Very cool. Thanks to Karen Hoogsteen for sending me the clipping. Hope the weather clears up today; I'm going to the Lilithfair concert tonight with Jeff, Rand and Tanya, Dave and Faith (friends of Rand's & Tanya's), and Andrew Platzer (helped write Technonerdboy, he works for Apple now). Check out this hilarious article on Lilith Fair Fever! In case I'm not home in time to blather about it, Mark Osier's birthday is on Sunday! Feel free to hassle him about his birthday. :-)
Site of the Day: Anne and Tim Walker. I really hope to be able to meet these two someday. Anne plays the flute! And she says she'll let me try out her harp!
