Finished Baker's book last night. FED my Sea Monkeys ® for the first time today (you're only supposed to feed them once a week). Still no evidence of smiles or tridents, though they did seem to exude a certain sea monkeyish joy when I dumped the tiny spoonful of mysterious poweder into the water. My window herb garden still survives, much to my surprise. The chives and basil are thriving, dill and parsley look a bit more undecided. I might pull them out just so the others don't get disheartened and follow suit.

Sent out Inklings yesterday. The issue featured an interview with Barbara Seuling (author, illustrator, editor) and a column by horror writer Paula Guran about writing workshops. My basil seedlings are starting to sprout! Unbelieveable, considering I forgot to water my indoor herb garden again yesterday. niagara

Came back from Niagara On The Lake. Went biking along the Niagara River,
got a bit sunburned, visited the Butterfly Sanctuary, saw
"The Two Mrs. Carrolls" at Shawfest, stayed at a nice B&B, came home this
afternoon. Checked my Sea Monkeys ®...they are larger and suspiciously
fewer in number. I have given them a stern talking-to about cannibalism
of one's siblings. Only Bob and Lettuce seemed to be listening properly.

Wow, these Sea Monkeys ® are growing pretty quickly...especially Sigmund. Siggy seems to be the bully of the bunch, and I'm watching him closely to see if he's responsible for the decrease in overall population (he does look rather self-satisfied these days). Very productive/fun UT practice last night. Went to the sushi place across the street, chocolate bars for dessert. Finished the handbook for the performance workshop at The Second Concerto. Site of the day: Reel Movies: Better Homes and Gardens...lots of fixit & home improvement info. Going to the cottage this weekend!
