physio

On Sunday evening, celebrating my birthday with Sara and Annie.
Annie is holding up a gift she made for me.
(Photo by my dad, click on image for bigger version)

Had my first physiotherapy session yesterday; I'll be having four a week. Details in a future Blathering when I can type more easily, but it basically involves ultrasound and electrotherapy. I was also shown some exercises I should be doing, and looks like I'll also be wearing arm braces on occasion. I'll likely check out a second opinion, but I'm crossing my fingers (carefully :-)) that all this fuss will help me get back to my writing sooner.

I am way behind in e-mail right now (and Livejournal reading); apologies to those who have written to me and haven't received a response yet. Thanks for your patience.

It's SNOWING outside my window right now. Isn't it supposed to be spring?!?

FilKONtario

Katy and me.
Both of us had birthdays on Saturday!

Still suffering from tendinitis, so I'll leave detailed FilKONtario reports to others. Check out more photos and info in Allison's FKO report. If you have photos or reports to share, please do post your URLs in Blatherchat.

Many thanks to the FKO concom for organizing this event!

More info/photos later in the week.

Tanya Huff. Tanya says she's been taking guitar lessons
since last year, partly inspired by her experience at FilKONtario.

Allison accompanies Karen Linsley on her one-shot.
Allison had also accompanied Karen last week at Ad Astra,
which was Karen's first public performance at
a filk convention since Lloyd's death.

update

Donna Maloney, Andy, Whitney at Ad Astra
(Donna sewed all the costumes, won first prize Novice Division
in her first Masquerade)

Still hurts to type, hence these sporadic Blatherings. I'll likely be uploading the occasional photo, and will be checking Blatherchat.

Had fun at Ad Astra despite not being able to play flute or guitar or percussion, looking forward to FilKONtario. For reports, see Allison's Livejournal over the next while.

I hope to be back online in a regular way soon. :-)

cottage visit

Jeff, setting out across the ice.

Tendinitis not great, but cottage visit was. Much snow. More details when my arms get a bit better. Meanwhile, here are a few pictures. Click on top two pictures to see a larger version.

Visit from David and Roy, cottage friends.
On right: Ginny, Brittany, Jeff.

Me, pulling a supply sled. Temperature was obviously
much hotter yesterday afternoon!
