Got back from OVFF late last night completely exhausted but happy. The weekend was a much-needed break for all of us...and it was great to see some of you Blatherchatters in PERSON again! :-) More details coming soon in Allison's con report. One of the unexpected highlights of the weekend, though, came when we found out we had won the Pegasus Award for Best Performer (!). To say we were surprised would be an understatement. Also deeply honoured.

Many congrats to this year's OVFF concom for making the con a great success! Sadly, we won't be able to attend OVFF next year since it falls on the Canadian Thanksgiving weekend in 1998. :-(

Finally watched the X-Files episode I missed on Sunday because our flight was late (Jeff taped it for me). *** SPOILER **** --> Mulder isn't dead after all! (*gasp) MOVIES: Have any of you read Starship Troopers by Heinlein? (I assume it's by Heinlein, anyway). Is it worth reading before I go see the movie? OVFF: I've updated the website with the new hotel info, some Pegasus and songwriting contest info. If anyone knows the name of person and song who won 3rd prize in the parody songwriting contest, could they please contact me? Thanks kindly.

sea monkeys

Site of the day: Wendy Webb (online comic that sometimes mentions FILKING). I bought Sea Monkeys yesterday! I'm going to set my kit up next week....can't wait to see those happy smiling faces on my watery denizens. The kit comes in a brightly-coloured plastic "aquarium" and contains 3 mysterious-looking packages, a sea monkey feeding spoon, and an Official Sea Monkey handbook. I can't wait!
